Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers about playing jigsaw puzzles on Ruzzle Arena.
Is Ruzzle Arena free?
Yes. Ruzzle Arena is completely free. No download, no signup required to play as a guest. Creating an optional account is also free.
Do I need to create an account?
No. You can play immediately as a guest. Creating an account is optional but useful — it tracks your stats and your room history.
Can I play with friends?
Yes. Create a Multiplayer room, share the 6-character code, and your friends will see your cursors and progress in real time as you assemble the puzzle together.
What image formats can I upload?
JPG, PNG, and WebP, up to 12 MB per image. Square or rectangular both work fine.
How many pieces can I choose?
Preset options: 12, 25, 50, 100, 200, 500, and 1000 pieces. 100 is a good starting point; 500 is a good evening project; 1000 is a real marathon.
Does it work on mobile?
Yes, but the experience is best on tablets and desktops. Small phone screens make 200+ piece puzzles harder to read.
Which browsers are supported?
Recent versions of Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge. The game uses HTML5 canvas and websockets — both standard in modern browsers.
Is my uploaded image private?
Uploaded images are only accessible from rooms you create. Public rooms (visible on the homepage) expose the image to anyone who joins; private rooms (default) are only accessible to people you share the room code with.
Can I rotate pieces?
Yes — enable Random Rotation when creating a game. Pieces will start at random angles. Click a piece to rotate it 90 degrees.
How does snap-to-frame work?
When you drop a piece on its correct position in the assembled frame, it locks into place. Adjacent placed pieces merge with it automatically, building up the picture. Locked pieces can't be moved and always sit behind scattered pieces visually.
Can I move multiple pieces at once?
Yes. Hold Ctrl (or Cmd on Mac) and click pieces to add them to a selection. Then drag any selected piece — the whole group moves together and lays out in a tight grid when you drop.
